Masks for Carnival - Apokries Learning Party food in Greek

Carnival masks

An easy way for your pupils
to make a mask
is to use this template below.

Then pupils need to just colour it
and they have fun.

The brighter the colours the better.
I loved that some pupils attached flowers.

With class we learned about party food in Greek.

Pupils brought party food at school
and they wrote labels for every plate.

We had "λεμονάδα, πορτοκαλάδα, πατατάκια, γαριδάκια, τυροπιτάκια, σπανακοπιτάκια, σοκολάτες".

It was Apokries, so time for party!

Learning animal names in Greek making masks for Apokries

This is an activity
we did this week with one of my classes.
I was trying to find out how to combine
learning animal names
with the Apokries Carnival celebrations
that take part this week.

I am so blessed to have Varvara,
as my assistant in Year 1 class this year,
and I was out of words
when she brought at school
these hand made animal masks
for all our pupils.

 Pupils were really excited
while choosing their animal masks,
colouring and putting them on their faces.
This is our result.

Are they adorable my little ones?
As you can see we did have
σκύλος -  dog
γάτα -  cat
κουνέλι - rabbit
λιοντάρι -lion
μαϊμού - monkey
αρκούδα - bear

Listen them to say what animal they are.
"Είμαι σκύλος..."

I think they did great!
