Mother's day flower magnet card

Mother’s day flower magnet card.

An activity for Mother’s Day.

This is a flower shape card.
This year I decided on
this magnet flower idea because
I wanted to create something
that mothers have a look at it every day.
And is there any better place than our fridge?

You will need scissors,
pink flower shape foam,
red paper (any colour will do),
magnetic self-adhesive tape,
double sided tape.
white paper.

First I cut out the coloured paper
in two circles
joined together.

I gave to pupils to fold the circles
at the joining point
and each child wrote
«Στην πιο καλή μαμά του κόσμου!
Τη δική μου!»

And then from inside each pupil wrote
Σαγαπώ μανούλα μου γιατί …”
 following with their personal reasons
of why they love their mum.

After, they put at the back of the circle
the double-sided tape
and put the circle in the middle of the flower.
Lastly at the back of the foam flower
they put the magnetic tape.

 And some personal touching
on the flower petals,
 our cards are ready!

Learning colours making an Easter egg card.

Easter Cards.

A colourful activity for Easter.

Help pupils to learn the colours.

It is a card for Easter with an egg shape.

You will need scissors,
different coloured papers
(colours that I want my pupils to learn),
white paper and
white card paper.

First I cut out an egg shape
 from the plain white paper.

Then I cut
the different coloured papers
 in long stripes.
I asked each pupil to collect
in front of him/her
all the stripes with a specific colour.

«Μαρία βρες όλα τα κόκκινα χαρτάκια.
Κώστα βρες όλα τα πράσινα χαρτάκια.»

When they have finished,
each pupil should asked from the other pupils
the exact coloured stripes they wanted,
 based on the pattern,
I gave in each pupil
in the beginning of the activity.

When they were asking for the stripe
they used the following dialogue.

« -Μπορώ να έχω ένα κίτρινο, παρακαλώ;
-Ορίστε, ένα κίτρινο.
-Ευχαριστώ».

After they collected
all the colours they needed,
 I asked them
to take one yellow stripe
 to write the wish

«Καλό Πάσχα»

with a black marker.

And glued this yellow stripe
in the middle of the card.

They continued
with the rest of the stripes
 using the provided pattern.

When all the egg shape paper
 was covered,
they turned it to the other way
 and used the scissors
to cut the longer remaining stripes.

At the end, they folded
the white card paper in the middle
and in front of the card
they glued the striped egg they made.

And these are some of our cards.

Greek Independence Day 1821 script

25th March 1821

Greek Independence Day.

“Dance of Zalogo”

script.

This is a script I used last week
for one of my classes assembly.
It's a short script because
the time I had was limited.
You can use it for young classes
especially when you have more girls than boys.
So I gave 2 lines to each pupil to learn.
 The boys were the narrators
and the girls were the "Souliotisses".

This story show to pupils
how important is freedom.

These Greek women from Souli
decided to jump down the Zalogo mountains
from a steep cliff
to avoid capture and enslavement,
while signing
and
 dancing the Greek folk song
"Dance of Zalogo".

After they sang all together the song,
  the girls danced the
"Dance of Zalogo".
At the end each girl step on a chair
and jump down it one after the other,
after making their cross.

It was really engaging for pupils
to learn about this part of
the Greek History
and they did a lot of questions about it.

When working with the script
I asked them
how they feel about these women?
 I was really impressed
when I took the answer
" We will probably do the same as we love to be free people!"
